The system of ranks in aikido, like in other Japanese martial arts, consists of pupils (kyu) and workshops (dan) degrees. Student degrees initially 6 (from 6 to 1 kyu), but in children's groups can be up to 10 student degrees (from 10 to 1 kyu).

Self-improvement and self-development is achieved by controlling your body: by breathing, bearing, center of gravity, controlling your thoughts while performing aikido techniques.
