Boring Launcher turns your phone into something that waits for you.

The intentional pause

Mark the apps that pull you in. When you open one, the launcher shows a calm breathing screen first: which app you are opening, how many times you have opened it today, and how long you have spent in it.

Then choose:

• Open for 5 minutes
• Open for 15 minutes
• Not now

“Not now” is the biggest button. It is meant to be easy to press.

Boring Launcher is honest about its limits. A launcher cannot close an app for you, and this one does not pretend it can. The timer that follows is a gentle nudge, not a lock. The friction is the point.

Time budgets

Give an app a daily budget. When it runs out, opening it offers one deliberate override instead of the usual choices.

Set a budget across the whole app drawer and, once it is spent, the drawer shows only your essential apps and a suggestion to take a break.

See where the time goes

See today's screen time, a seven-day chart, your top apps, and how many times you unlocked your phone.

Plus the number that actually matters: how often you chose “not now” this week.

Tasks and memos

Quick-add tasks with optional due dates and reminders.

Swipe to complete or delete, and drag to reorder. The next few things due today sit quietly under your apps on the home screen.

Nothing leaves your device

Boring Launcher is built without the internet permission. The app is technically incapable of sending anything anywhere.

Getting around
